MIT will be hosting an information session for prospective students and parents at the Pine Crest School auditorium in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday, September 18 at 2:00 PM.
Also, MIT’s annual prospective student Shabbaton will take place the weekend of September 16-17. Hillel hosts a free Friday night dinner every Shabbat, and they have numerous classes, cultural events, and social opportunities each week. There are prayer services held every Shabbat (Conservative and Orthodox on Friday night, Orthodox on Saturday morning). Hot kosher food is available in the main dining hall, and many Jewish students choose to live in kosher suites with full kitchens on campus. They have an active Israel cultural group on campus, and many students are involved in Israel advocacy. To learn more about MIT Hillel and Jewish life at MIT, see hillel.mit.edu.
During the Shabbaton they will be housing high school students with members of the Hillel community around campus. Meals, accommodations, and a campus tour will be free of charge. If you are interested in attending, please see Ms. Greener or Mrs. Yunger.
