In advance of the Thanksgiving holiday, the Lower School held a Gratitude Drive in support of “lone soldiers” in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) through the Michael C. Levin Lone Soldiers Center. A “lone soldier” is someone serving in the IDF who has no family in Israel to turn to for support. There are over 6,000 lone soldiers in the IDF, the largest single group being from the U.S. To cap off the drive, Lower School students met by Skype with Chelsea Gober, a lone soldier and Posnack alumna. Special thanks to Chelsea and to Marsha Fischer for putting together a wonderful culmination to our gratitude project.
