Photo of Lisa RosenDavid Posnack Jewish Day School announced that starting in the 2014-2015 school year, Lisa Rosen will take up the reins as drama instructor. She brings a wealth of acting, directing, and teaching experience to the position. Welcome to Posnack Ms. Rosen!

Bio
Lisa Rosen is a native of Miami, FL. She graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. While studying at Rutgers she trained for one year at the Rutgers Conservatory at Shakespeare’s Globe Theater in London, England where she was featured on the Globe Stage as Ophelia in Hamlet. Lisa began her teaching career during her time abroad. She taught Southwark High School and Middle School students Shakespeare and assistant directed their performance on the Globe Stage. During her time at Rutgers University she was very involved in on-campus Jewish life and founded on-campus yoga for Jewish students at Rutgers Hillel. Prior to her undergraduate studies, Lisa spent two summers training at the Summer Theatre Institute at Columbia University in New York and received numerous awards for her work as an actress during her high school career including the Critics Choice Award at district competitions. After college, Lisa worked as a commercial actress appearing in advertisements for well known companies including McDonalds and MTV. She continued to develop her love of teaching by becoming certified as a two hundred hour registered yoga teacher while simultaneously coaching actors privately for television and film. Most recently Lisa received her Master of Fine Arts in Theatre from Florida Atlantic University where she directed theatrical productions for undergraduate and graduate level students, cast over forty student written plays, served as a movement choreographer, professor and private acting coach (resulting in admissions to prestigious fine arts programs), and a guest lecturer. Additionally, her performance work at Florida Atlantic University was recognized by the Jewish Journal, Sun Sentinel, and University Press. Lisa is extremely excited to be a part of the David Posnack family and is looking forward to the upcoming school year!
