Deborah HartnerDrama specialist,  Deborah Hartner has assumed the role as Director of Posnack Middle and High school productions.

Hartner is in her fourth year at Posnack. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Valparaiso University where she studied Theology and Musical Theater and received an Irene Ryan nomination for her role as Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible.  She began her teaching career at Leysin American School in Switzerland.  While in Leysin, she worked with Theatre International, the Middle and High School Theatre program therein.  Before joining the Posnack family, Hartner was in charge of the Susan B. Katz Theater of the Performing Arts and ran the year round children’s theater program, Actor’s Studio.  She has been appointed by the City Commission of Pembroke Pines to serve as Vice Chair of the Arts and Culture Advisory Board.

Hartner’s Posnack directing credits include Ths Phne 2.0, Romeo and Juliet, Annie Jr. and Beauty and the Beast Jr.  Posnack Middle School Theater classes have grown in enrollment from 13 students on Hartner’s first day to over 60 students this year. Fischer High School Theater classes have tripled in enrollment.  At Districts, the Posnack Thespian troupe has received Critic’s Choice in playwriting the past two years and numerous Superior ratings under her direction.
