Posnack School Welcomes 3 Israeli Students for Israel’s 70th
Three high school students from Nesher, our sister city in Israel, will visit Posnack School for Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut next week. The three young women will be accompanied by their teacher and an IDF officer. The students are here to help celebrate Israel’s 70th anniversary of independence and will be participating in a variety of activities with Posnack School students including group encounters with lower school students in grades 3, 4 and 5, conversing with 150 of our Hebrew language students, and addressing 400 students at a joint Middle and High School assembly. The visit is designed to bring our Posnack School students closer to Israel by creating personal connections with their Israeli peers. The visit is funded by the Jewish Federation of Broward County as part of the thirteen-year-old Nesher-Broward Partnership under the auspices of the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) and the Jewish Federation. The goal of the partnership is to create a “Living Bridge” between people of Israel and Jews living in the Diaspora.
