Our First Grade students celebrated receiving their very first siddur at our Siddur Presentation this month! This was such a special time to share with our first graders and we wish all of our families a mazel tov on reaching this milestone!

Posnack School student Sofia G. was awarded one of two grand prizes in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery’s Teen Portrait Competition. Sofia won the grand-prize for ages 13–15 with her portrait “ What I Am, What I Think.” Students Liana M. and Ellie M. were finalists in the competition. Kol ha-kavod. Click for details.
When we talk about religion our minds jump to notions of God and theology, or perhaps religious practices and ceremonies, or to a list of do’s and don’ts for the faithful to follow. The realm of civil law is relegated to the mundane world of the practical, not the lofty spiritual plane. Here again, Judaism demonstrates unique qualities.
In honor of Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month the 6th Grade communal minyan got to hear from special visitor, Mayor Judy Cuenca. Mayor Cuenca shared with the students about her struggles with her eyesight. Click for photos and details.
