A Jewish JrK-12 College Preparatory School Serving South Florida

Hochberg Middle School is, once again, participating in the Names, Not Numbers© Holocaust documentary program. Names, Not Numbers© transforms the traditional study of the Holocaust into an experiential learning program involving Holocaust survivors. During the program, students will learn about the Holocaust by producing their own oral history documentary. Students gain knowledge through a one-on-one interview with a Holocaust survivor, while also learning other skills such as interviewing techniques, internet research, and using filming and editing tools. In addition, students will be guided throughout the program by professional journalists, filmmakers, and Holocaust survivors. Yesterday marked the beginning of the program as students met with Michael Behar about filming and editing tools. They also had a chance to hear from Ms. Tait, Ms. Synalovski, Rabbi Weissberg, and Rabbi Shlomie.
